Since 1999, Romford Insulations have been surveying properties and producing asbestos registers in accordance with MDHS 100 for some high profile clients such as:
- Knight Frank
- Blockbusters
- Gamestation
- Mansell PLC
- Overbury
- Morgan Lovell
Most recently, we have been appointed to carry out type 1 and type 2 asbestos surveys to Family Mosaic, one of the largest Housing Associations in the UK.
Romford provide a professional asbestos survey service that falls into the following three categories:
-
Presumptive Survey (Type 1)
Location and assessment survey.A walk through, visual survey only, useful for estimating. Liability for asbestos removal or for re-evaluating existing data for the purposes of risk assessment.
-
Sampling Survey (Type 2)
Standard sampling, identification and assessment survey.A fully intrusive survey that should precede all major building works. A planning supervisor is legally obliged to identify all foreseeable risks, including those related to asbestos. Property owners might also find themselves liable if a survey is not carried out or carried out sufficiently well and workers subsequently suffer exposure to ACM’S.
-
Pre-Demolition/Major Refurbishment Survey (Type 3)
Full access sampling and identification survey. The usual basis for the preparation of the ACM register. It typically incorporates two forms of risk assessment.
- The material risk assessment, complying with regulation MDHS100. This identifies types, amounts, location and condition of any ACM’s.
- The priority risk assessment, complying with regulation HSG 227. This defines a strategy for the effective management of ACM’s, given a number of environmental factors such as building occupation and usage.
